Ybor City

Ybor City is named for cigar factory owner Vicente M. Ybor, who moved his factory from Key West in 1886; by the end of the 19th century Ybor City and Tampa were the world's largest cigar producer. Many of its Cuban, Spanish and Italian immigrant residents worked in the cigar factories. Today it is Tampa's National Historic Landmark District, a shopping, dining and entertainment area of brick walkways, wrought iron balconies and old cigar factories and social clubs, where premium hand-rolled cigars are still made.
